Uploading images by MMS or email

Have you just taken a great picture? Would you like to publish it on your mobile website as soon as possible? Don't worry, create an MMS or email message, attach the picture, and send it to go@ubik.net. The newly submitted image will be displayed immediately on your web page.

To upload a new image using MMS or email:

  1. Create a new MMS or email message
  2. Attach an image
  3. The subject of the message must be the same as the one assigned to the gallery you want to update
    1. Go to the editor
    2. Open the selected gallery section
    3. Pick Send From Mobile to verify Message Subject

    Tip: If the title can't be edited, then you need to add the value of Message Subject to the body of the message in the following manner: subject:[Message Subject], for example: subject:gallery123. The code must occupy a single line.

  4. You must provide UBIK.com with your mobile phone number to upload images using MMS
    1. Go to the editor
    2. Open selected gallery section
    3. Pick Send From Mobile
    4. Enter your phone number
  5. Send the message to go@ubik.net

    Caution: UBIK.com will only process a MMS or email message if its phone number or email address is the same as the one specified in your user profile.

  6. The selected gallery section will be immediately updated with the new image

Caution: UBIK.com doesn't charge you for this service. However, regular MMS messaging charges will apply. Contact your carrier for more information.

Supported formats

The following file formats are supported

  • image/gif
  • image/jpg, image/jpeg
  • image/png
  • image/bmp
  • image/wbmp - will be transcoded to image/gif
Note: Your phone, or carrier, might have file size limits.

Updating photo gallery

Let's say you like to travel, and you own a mobile site about your hobby. The website contains a gallery section presenting photos from your trips. You are about to start a new exciting journey, and would like to update your site with pictures taken while on the move. It's very simple!

While at home:

  1. Go to the editor and create a new gallery section or select an existing one. Learn more...
  2. Pick Send From Mobile
  3. Record Message Subject. You may provide your own value if you want.
  4. Enter your mobile phone number
  5. Grab your backpack, and enjoy the trip!

While on the move:

  1. Take a picture
  2. Create a new MMS message on your mobile phone. Use the recorded value of Message Subject as a message subject
  3. Attach the photo
  4. Send the message to go@ubik.net

That's it! Visit your mobile website to preview the photo.
